Hello from Canada, hello my name is Kevin Falcioni, I am looking for some information on the area around Valvasone. It is a small town but with some luck I will find somebody who knows the town. I am researching my family from there and have some questions about the life and history of the town. I am looking for some info on the cemetaries there. Anybody from there?

hello,
I'm martina and i come from a little town near Valvasone. For first I ask you sorry for my not-so-good english..
Valvasone is a beautiful little center near Pordenone, in the west of Friuli Venezi Giulia.
I don't know so much about Valvasone but i can tell you that it's a medieval center, very very nice because the street and some palace make you feel that you're really in the medieval time!
In september (this year from 12th to 14th september) the citizens of Valvasone organize a storical commemoration about medieval time: all the town join to this festival and in these days you can see medieval traditions, medieval trade, medieval dance and also you can eat and drink medieval foods! it'a beatiful festival and every year there's a lot of people. then, every year there'is a new different theme about medieval times: this year the theme was dante's inferno!

in my page you can find some picture of this "medieval times" : http://rete.comuni-italiani.it/foto/200 ... e/lamarti/
this is the site of this festival: http://www.medioevoavalvasone.org/
