The locality is known as Pietratagliata di Fesuna, and is a rocky crest emerging from the valley and cut as if to form a pass. On the threshold of this pass there is a slender quadrangular tower, 36 metres high, well preserved, with some adjacent buildings that seem to cling miraculously to those rocks and are rooted in the grotto rooms below. Rather than as a castle, it should be seen as a sort of guardhouse controlling a pass, its dating is uncertain 12th to 14th centuries.
