" A Bassano noi eravamo acquartierati in una vecchia villa sul Brenta, sulla sponda orientale, un pò più in su del ponte coperto. Era grande e tutta di marmo con cipressi lungo il viale e statue ai lati, e le solite altre cose (...) Ma hai tu mai visto il sole sorgere almeno una volta dal Monte Grappa, o sentito nel sangue dentro di te il crepuscolo di Giugno sulle Dolomiti. In the year of its centenary anniversary, the City of Bassano dedicates this riverfront to the Nobel Prize Awarded writer. In ricordo del soggiorno di Ernest Hemingway in questa parte di Bassano, durante la Grande Guerra, il Comune nell'anno del Centenario dedica questo Lungobrenta allo scrittore Premio Nobel.
